Led by the Holy Spirit

How many times have you heard a Christian say, “The Holy Spirit led me to do this”? Today, R.C. Sproul identifies the primary way in which the Spirit leads the people of God.
How many times have you heard your friends say to you, "The Spirit led me to do this. Or to do that"? We have to be very, very cautious here. Certainly, God, the Holy Spirit does lead us. But, in the New Testament, the primary meaning of the leading of the Holy Spirit is not to lead us who to marry, or what job we should take, or what city we should live in. But the primary leading of the Holy Spirit is the leading to holiness. This is the will of God, the Scriptures say, even your sanctification. And so, the Spirit is working in us to move us to become more obedient as Christians.
